Get answers to common questions about Microdermabrasion.
During a Microdermabrasion session, a trained therapist gently exfoliates the skin using a crystal or diamond-tip device, removing dead cells. Treatment includes cleansing, exfoliation, and calming serums; typically lasts 30–45 minutes with immediate smoother texture and minimal recovery.
Microdermabrasion is generally safe for many skin types, but we assess sensitivity and active acne first. For inflamed breakouts or rosacea we may recommend alternatives. Your therapist customizes intensity and performs a patch test to ensure comfort and safety.
Most clients notice smoother skin after one session, but a series of 4–6 treatments spaced two to four weeks apart is recommended for visible improvement in texture, fine lines, and minor scarring.
Microdermabrasion is largely comfortable; you may feel mild abrasion or warmth during treatment and slight redness afterward. Downtime is minimal—most resume normal activities immediately with proper post-care and sun protection.
Microdermabrasion can improve mild acne scars and uneven pigment by resurfacing the skin, but deeper scars or stubborn hyperpigmentation may need combined therapies like chemical peels, microneedling, or laser for optimal results.
Avoid retinoids and strong exfoliants for several days before treatment, arrive with clean skin, and aftercare includes gentle moisturizers, sunscreen, and avoiding direct sun and vigorous exercise for 48 hours to protect healing skin.
