Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Black Henna.

Black Henna is a henna-based paste formulated to produce a darker, near-black stain compared with traditional reddish-brown henna. At Spa Elegant we use regulated, skin-safe pigments and always perform patch tests. Avoid unregulated PPD-based mixes; we do not use harmful additives.

A Black Henna stain usually lasts seven to fourteen days on most skin types, fading gradually. Longevity depends on placement, skin exfoliation, and aftercare—avoid prolonged water exposure and exfoliants to help extend the design.

We prioritize safety. Our Black Henna uses vetted, skin-friendly ingredients and we require a patch test 24–48 hours before full application for clients with sensitivity concerns. If you have a history of allergic reactions, consult us beforehand for alternatives.

Black Henna can transfer while it's moist. We recommend keeping the area dry and uncovered until fully dried and sealed, sleep on old sheets for the first night, and avoid tight clothing over fresh designs to prevent smudges and stains.

Yes — we offer scalp-safe Black Henna accents for temporary darkening and artistic styling on hair or small scalp areas. Consultation is required to ensure suitability; we avoid any products that could irritate the scalp or interact with hair treatments.

Aftercare includes keeping the paste on for recommended time, avoiding water for twelve to twenty-four hours, and gently moisturizing with fragrance-free oil or cream. Refrain from exfoliating the area and avoid chlorinated pools to preserve color. Follow technician instructions for best results.
