Get answers to common questions about Microblading,Ombré Brows.
Microblading uses ultra-fine, hair-like strokes to mimic individual brow hairs, while ombré (powder) brows use shading to create a soft, filled gradient. Ombré often suits oilier skin and offers a more makeup-like finish; many clients choose a combined technique for best results.
Results vary by skin type and lifestyle but typically last 12–24 months. An initial touch-up at 6–8 weeks is recommended, then maintenance touch-ups every 12–18 months to preserve color, shape, and crispness.
Most clients report mild discomfort rather than sharp pain. Topical numbing is applied to minimize sensation. You may feel pressure or light scratching; tenderness and mild sensitivity are normal during the healing phase.
Avoid blood-thinning medications, alcohol, heavy caffeine, and retinol products for several days. Refrain from tanning and brow tinting two weeks prior. Arrive with clean brows and no makeup for an accurate consultation and mapping.
Keep the area clean and dry, avoid sweating, saunas, pools, and heavy sunlight for about one week. Apply recommended ointment sparingly, do not pick scabs, and follow your artist’s healing timeline to ensure proper pigment retention and color development.
Notable contraindications include pregnancy, breastfeeding, recent chemotherapy, uncontrolled diabetes, active skin infections, severe dermatitis, or known keloid scarring. Certain medications and very oily skin may affect outcomes; a consultation determines safe candidacy.
